Gia Lai Goes Green: New 'Eco-Industrial Park' Approved South of Highway 19

A Strategic Gateway

The new park boasts a prime location designed for connectivity.

  • West: Connects to the new route linking National Highway 19 with the major Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh industrial-urban complex (inaugurated in March 2025).
  • North: Borders the existing infrastructure of Nhon Hoa Industrial Park.
  • South & East: Surrounded by natural boundaries, including mountains and the Yen Stream.

Settinga New Ecological Standard

The zoning plan places a heavy emphasis on sustainability, aiming to exceednational green standards.

  • Green Space: Land dedicated to greenery, transport, and technical infrastructure accounts for 30.47% of the total area. This surpasses the government's minimum requirement of 25% for eco-industrial parks. Specifically, over 22 hectares are reserved for green belts and parks.
  • Industrial Symbiosis: The park is designed to encourage a "circular economy." Companies operating within the zone will be encouraged to share energy, water, and raw materials.
  • Clean Production: At least 20% of tenant enterprises will be required to adopt Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) solutions and implement ISO standard management systems.

Target Industries and Infrastructure

With 86.28 hectares allocated for factory construction, the park is casting awide net for investors in high-value sectors. Priority industries include:

  • Agro-forestry processing and Food & Beverage.
  • High-tech textiles and Construction materials.
  • Mechanical engineering, Pharmaceuticals, and Biotechnology.
  • Electronics and Supporting industries.

Robust Utilities: To support these industries, the park will feature a water supply capacity of 4,000 m³/day and a waste water treatment plant capableof handling 2,100 m³/day (meeting QCVN 07:2023/BXD standards). Power will be initially supplied via the 110 kV Nhon Tan station, with future supplements from Nhon Hoa.

The Broader Vision

This project is a key piece of Gia Lai’s 2021-2030 development strategy, which envisions 24 industrial parks covering a total of 8,824 hectares across the province.

In 2025 alone, the province has moved forward with approvals for the Binh Nghi and Phu My (Phase 1) industrial zones. Looking ahead, local authorities are accelerating key infrastructure projects, including the Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone and the completion of the South Pleiku Industrial Park, to cement the region's status as a new industrial powerhouse.
