SAMSUNG SUPPORTS VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES TO ACCELERATE SMART FACTORY DEVELOPMENT

On October 17, 2025, Samsung Vietnam, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province, organized the closing ceremony for the 2025 Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project for 5 participating E in the Northern region, following more than 5 months of execution.

The 2025 Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project was launched on May 19, 2025, with the goal of supporting Vietnamese E in the manufacturing sector to enhance management capabilities, optimize operations, promote digital transformation, and build smart factory models according to international standards.

The 5 supported E in the Northern region include: An Lap Plastic Co., Ltd. (Bac Ninh), Van Long Engineering Plastic Joint Stock Company (Hai Phong), Vina Technology Joint Stock Company (Thai Nguyen), Korea Vietnam Technical Copper Co., Ltd. - KCT (Ninh Binh), and AMA Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company.

After more than 5 months of implementation at these E, the Project recorded many positive results such as: successfully deploying an IoT system for real-time data collection and analysis, helping to reduce process errors and facilitate progress monitoring; optimizing layout and automating many stages to enhance efficiency...

The consulted E will continue to develop their smart factory systems under the online mentorship of Korean experts. This aims to enhance competitiveness, increase the ability to participate in global supply chains, and contribute to the development of Vietnam's supporting industries.

Mr. Kim Tea Hoon, Vice General Director in charge of the Purchasing Center - Samsung Vietnam, stated that over the past 10 years, Samsung has focused on implementing improvement activities at production sites to increase the competitiveness of Vietnam's supporting industry.

Notably, starting this year, Samsung is focusing on expanding opportunities for E that have participated in the Project to join Samsung's supply chain, along with changes in the approach to the smart factory building support program. Mr. Kim Tea Hoon emphasized: “Samsung is committed to continuing efforts to contribute to the development of Vietnamese enterprises.”

Concurrently, the Project is also being implemented at 5 E in the Southern region, and the closing ceremony is expected to be held in November 2025.

The Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project is a collaborative initiative between Samsung and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. From 2022 until now, the Project has accompanied 82 Vietnamese enterprises in their journey of improvement and building smart factory foundations, and has trained 123 smart factory experts.

In addition to this project, since 2015, Samsung and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have coordinated to effectively deploy numerous programs, providing improvement consultation to enhance the competitiveness of 379 Vietnamese E, training 406 supporting industry experts, and 209 mold technicians.
