VIETNAM RECEIVES HUGE INVESTMENT FROM FRENCH GREEN HYDROGEN COMPANY

On the afternoon of November 20th, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, met and worked with Mr. Tran Khanh Viet Dung, Director of HDF Energy (France), a green hydrogen infrastructure company in Vietnam.

According to information from the meeting, Mr. Tran Khanh Viet Dung expressed his desire for HDF Energy to invest $500 million in potential energy and transportation projects in Vietnam.

Established in 2012 and with a representative office in Hanoi since 2022, HDF Energy specializes in developing low- to zero-emission hydrogen power generation projects.

In Vietnam, the company has collaborated with ministries, government agencies, and state-owned corporations in renewable energy in the fields of electricity, transportation, maritime, and petrochemicals. Mr. Dung stated his intention to invest $500 million in potential projects in the near future.

Particularly in Ho Chi Minh City, HDF Energy proposed developing a green hydrogen-powered water bus route on the Saigon River, collaborating on a green port project in Can Gio, providing green energy in the Con Dao Special Economic Zone, and researching and developing a hydrogen-powered urban railway.

Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong supported HDF Energy's exploration of investment opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City regarding green transformation in transportation, industry, and the environment. The city committed to creating favorable conditions and cooperating with HDF Energy in implementing these projects.

Headquartered in France, HDF Energy has offices in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, with a team of approximately 150 hydrogen experts from over 35 countries. The group was listed on the Euronext Paris exchange in 2021.

HDF Energy is developing a portfolio of projects worth over €3 billion, focusing on developing large-scale hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen-powered battery technology, promoting efforts to reduce emissions in the energy, maritime transport, and railway sectors.
