GIA LAI COOPERATES IN INVESTMENT WITH BUSAN

In mid-August, a delegation from Gia Lai province (Vietnam), led by Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and worked with the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Korea to promote investment, trade, and logistics cooperation.

The meeting took place on August 13 at Lotte Hotel, Busan City. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Yang Jae Sang, Chairman of BCCI, and representatives of member enterprises.

At the meeting, Mr. Yang Jae Sang affirmed his desire to strengthen cooperation between enterprises of Busan and Gia Lai in the fields of seaports, logistics, agricultural processing, and infrastructure development.

Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang introduced an overview of the development potential of Gia Lai province, emphasizing its strengths in high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and logistics infrastructure. He suggested that BCCI play a bridging role, supporting connections with Korean enterprises with capacity and experience, especially in developing seaports and smart cities.

The BCCI Chairman highly appreciated the potential and orientation of Gia Lai province, saying that he would support the promotion of bilateral investment and promote connections between the business communities of the two sides. He proposed establishing a regular exchange channel, organizing a Busan business delegation to conduct field surveys in Gia Lai, and inviting the province to participate in events organized by BCCI in the coming time.

Phu My Industrial Park and Port Project, part of the strategic investment portfolio of Gia Lai province, is one of the targets that BCCI is interested in. This project has a scale of more than 820 hectares, oriented to develop renewable energy and telecommunications industries. Phu My Port is a type I deep-water port, capable of receiving ships up to 150,000 tons, and is expected to become the core of the development of an industrial urban-seaport in the region.

BCCI assesses that Phu My has great potential in connecting logistics with Busan Port, opening up opportunities for cooperation in maritime transport, import and export, and international supply chains.

Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a large economic organization in Korea, with thousands of members operating in the fields of seaports, shipbuilding industry, agriculture and fisheries, trade and services. With a wide network of cooperation, BCCI plays an important role in promoting global investment and trade.

On the same day, the Gia Lai Provincial Delegation is expected to work with the Korea Marine Development Corporation (KOBC) and Busan Port - strategic partners in the fields of logistics, international trade, and import-export infrastructure.
