BOOSTING INVESTMENT PROMOTION IN INDUSTRIAL PARKS: LAM DONG REALIZES ITS DEVELOPMENT ASPIRATIONS

Embodying the spirit of the Party's 14th National Congress, Lam Dong province is vigorously implementing measures to attract high-quality, selective investment into its industrial zones, thereby contributing to the national goal of entering an era of rising strength, prosperity, and civilization.

Unlocking potential and achieving breakthroughs in investment attraction

As the nation strives to realize its development aspirations—guided by the spirit of the Party's 14th National Congress and the General Secretary's directives on building an independent, self-reliant economy integrated deeply into the global landscape—Lam Dong province has identified attracting investment into industrial zones (IZs) as a key, breakthrough task for 2026, the inaugural year of the 2026–2031 term.

With a strategic location bordering Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City—the two economic powerhouses of the Southern Key Economic Region—Lam Dong is regarded as an indispensable "green hinterland" within the regional linkage chain. Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary General and Head of the Legal Department at the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), observes that once transport infrastructure is seamlessly connected and IZ infrastructure is further perfected, Lam Dong will become an attractive destination for investors, thanks to its short supply chains and comprehensive manufacturing ecosystem.

Positive results affirming investment appeal

Reality has demonstrated Lam Dong's growing appeal to investors. In 2025, the province's industrial zones attracted 22 new investment projects with a total registered capital exceeding VND 1,578 billion and USD 57 million—comprising 16 domestic projects and 6 FDI projects—covering a total operational area of nearly 58 hectares.

This growth momentum continued into 2026. In the first three months of the year alone, the industrial zones attracted another 5 new projects with a total registered capital of over VND 177 billion and USD 0.2 million. Mr. Le Hai Ninh, Deputy Head of the Provincial Industrial Zones Management Board, stated that to date, there are 246 active projects within the province's industrial zones—consisting of 58 FDI projects and 188 domestic projects—with a total valid registered capital exceeding VND 44,780 billion and USD 514 million, and a total land area of over 730 hectares. Crucially, these projects have generated regular, stable employment for approximately 20,000 workers, directly contributing to social welfare goals and the improvement of people's living standards, in line with the "leave no one behind" principle repeatedly emphasized by the General Secretary.

Innovating Thinking and Enhancing the Investment Environment

Adhering to the Central Government's directives on institutional reform and the creation of an open, transparent business environment, the Management Board of Industrial Zones in Lam Dong Province has adopted a strategy that eschews investment attraction at any cost. Instead, it prioritizes the selective recruitment of projects featuring high technology and eco-friendliness, those that generate significant added value, and those closely aligned with the locality's sustainable development goals.

To realize this objective, the Board focuses on three key pillars: First, establishing a transparent investment environment and streamlining administrative procedures through digital transformation. Second, accelerating infrastructure development within industrial zones to meet the requirements for attracting high-quality secondary projects. Third, actively supporting enterprises throughout the investment, production, and business lifecycle—promptly resolving challenges within its jurisdiction to both retain existing investors and build the confidence needed to attract new capital flows.

Proactive Promotion and Expansion of Investment Cooperation

In line with the policy of "proactive integration, active promotion, and enhanced investment attraction efficiency," Lam Dong Province plans to host an investment promotion event in Ho Chi Minh City in April 2026. This event is expected to unlock new cooperation opportunities and channel both domestic and foreign investment resources into the province's industrial zones.

Driven by strong political resolve, innovative thinking, and decisive action, Lam Dong is steadily establishing itself as a reliable and dynamic investment destination within the Southern Key Economic Region, thereby making a significant contribution to the national goal of building a prosperous and happy country, as envisioned by the 14th National Party Congress.
