At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and assessed the implementation of the mid-long-term vision in Vietnam-Japan agricultural cooperation in the period of 2015-2019; evaluate the JICA programs implemented in the field of agriculture, food value chain to promote investment from Japanese enterprises in Can Tho and Vietnam in general, and improve the food value chain in Vietnam. In addition, the two sides analyzed the challenges and needs of cooperatives and businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of agriculture and food value chains, from which to give cooperation for development.

JICA's group of agricultural policy and development experts presented the results of the survey and analysis of the food value chain of Can Tho City. Since then, the JICA mission has proposed to the city leaders many solutions as well as directions to promote cooperation and development of the food value chain in the city.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Dung emphasized at the meeting that currently, Can Tho is very interested in promoting investment and cooperation in agriculture between Japan and Vietnam, Can Tho City affirmed that it always tried try to create a good investment environment for foreign businesses to invest and do business in Can Tho city, including Japanese enterprises. He believes that in the future, trade and investment cooperation will achieve many new achievements.
