On December 18, 2019, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee granted investment registration certificates to 8 projects from domestic investors and 1 project from foreign investors, with a total investment of up to nearly 800 million USD. These projects are located in the Saigon High-Tech Park(SHTP) - the center of high technology of the city and southern provinces.
The FDI project is Techtronic Tools (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. invested by Techtronic Industries (TTI) in the field of microelectronics, with a total capital of 650 million USD, including accessories factory, smart handheld electrical equipment as well as R&D center. The project is planned to use 80 to 150 domestic suppliers with a local purchasing value of up to USD 1 billion / year.
According to Stephan Pudwill, Vice President, Managing Director of the Group, Vietnam is the most important market in TTI's development strategy, in particular, TTI factory in SHTP will be the second largest factory and the R&D center will also be the one in the world.
It is expected that TTI's factory will be able to employ 7,400 employees, of which 500 employees will directly participate in R&D activities, contributing to export revenue of 1.3 billion USD/year in the 3rd year and about 3 billion USD/year from the 6th year onwards.

Vietnam primary standard factory project invested by Vietnam Primary Standards Jsc. with total investment capital of VND 270 billion, equivalent to USD 11.7 million.
HDKING high-tech R&D center project invested by iSmartcity Corporation with a total capital of VND 420 billion, equivalent to USD 18.26 million.
DFM Technology R&D Center project is invested by DFM Tech Jsc. with a total capital of VND 115 billion, equivalent to USD 5 million.
Vietnam Japan Hi-tech Research Center project is invested by Vietnam-Japan CNC Investment Co., Ltd. with a total investment of VND 360 billion, equivalent to USD 15.85 million.
R&D center for experimental production of robots and automation is invested by CNC Idea R&D Center with a total capital of VND 115 billion, equivalent to USD 5 million.
R&D Center of irradiation technology application project invested by An Phu Irradiation Jsc. with a total capital of VND 877.68 billion, equivalent to USD 32.7 million.
R&D Center of plant cell technology, medicinal raw materials production project invested by Goldenlife Pharmaceutical Jsc. with a total investment of VND 478.5 billion, equivalent to USD 20.5 million.
After nearly 17 years of construction and development, SHTP is now the destination of 162 domestic and foreign investors with a total investment capital of 7.9 billion USD. Successfully attracting prestigious high-tech projects from Intel corporations (USA); Nidec, Nipro (Japan); Samsung (Korea), Datalogic (Italy), Sanofi, Schneider Electronics (France) ... has contributed in putting Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general name on the world high-tech map.
