The People's Committee of Kon Tum province has just approved the addition of 15 projects to its Investment Attraction List for the 2021-2025 period, focusing mainly on two strategic sectors: Energy and Urban Development. This move aims to create further momentum for socio-economic growth and effectively call for investment capital.
The energy sector accounts for a significant portion of the added list with 8 projects, mostly hydropower and wind power, with the goal of electricity generation, contributing to economic development and improving local livelihoods.
The energy projects added include:
• 7 Hydropower Projects: Nuoc Dao, Dak Su 2, Dak Piu 1, Dak Rve, Ta Au, Dak Na, and Dak Nghe 3 Hydropower Projects.
• 1 Wind Power Project: Sac Ly - Kon Tum Wind Power Project (Phase 1).
The urban development sector saw the addition of 7 projects, all concentrated in the Mang Den town, Kon Plong district.
The goal of these projects is to invest in constructing mixed-use urban areas with synchronized technical and social infrastructure systems. This area is oriented to be developed into a high-quality comprehensive tourism space, complete with infrastructure, facilities, and services.
Specifically, these are Urban Area Projects No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in Mang Den.
To effectively implement this new project list, the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee has assigned specific tasks to relevant units:
• The Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion will be responsible for efficiently organizing the call and attraction of investment. This unit is also tasked with creating detailed project description appendices for promotion work and publishing the contents of this Decision in mass media.
• The Department of Finance is tasked with leading and coordinating with related agencies to conduct annual reviews and advise the Provincial People's Committee on adjusting or supplementing the Investment Attraction List to ensure it aligns with the local practical situation.
The addition of 15 projects to the investment attraction list is a crucial step for Kon Tum in mobilizing resources, especially non-budgetary capital, to serve the goals of sustainable economic development for the 2021-2025 period.
