Binh Dinh promotes the establishment of the 40-hectare Cat Lam industrial cluster

The People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province has approved a policy to establish the Cat Lam Industrial Cluster in Cat Lam Commune, Phu Cat District, with a total planned area of 40 hectares. The project aims to promote rural industrial development and attract investment across the province.

This decision was issued under Document No. 3260/UBND-KT dated April 22, 2025, based on the proposal by the Department of Industry and Trade and the conclusions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee stated in Notice No. 1912-TB/TU. The province plans to invite and select a qualified investor to develop technical infrastructure for the new cluster.

Following the direction of the Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade and the People’s Committee of Phu Cat District will coordinate with relevant agencies to implement the necessary procedures, ensuring the project's progress and effectiveness.

Currently, Binh Dinh Province has 46 approved industrial clusters with a total area of over 1,639 hectares. Of these, 45 clusters have detailed construction plans approved, 38 are undergoing infrastructure development, and 40 have completed compensation and site clearance. Some industrial clusters are being expanded, such as the one in Van Canh Town, which has doubled its area from 37 hectares to 75 hectares.

For 2025, the province aims to achieve an occupancy rate of 75–80% in operational clusters, attract 30–35 secondary investment projects, and select 2–3 capable investors to develop cluster infrastructure. By 2030, the targeted occupancy rate is expected to increase to 80–85%.

At an industrial development review meeting on April 11, 2025, Chairman Pham Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of selecting infrastructure developers with strong financial capacity and the ability to attract secondary investors. The province will strictly handle cases with prolonged delays or projects failing to meet implementation requirements for two consecutive years.

In addition to expansion goals, Binh Dinh is also focusing on sustainable development. New industrial zones and clusters will follow the eco-industrial park model, prioritizing clean energy, recycling technologies, and industrial symbiosis. Existing clusters will gradually be transformed to meet ecological standards, reducing environmental impact and improving resource efficiency.

The establishment of the Cat Lam Industrial Cluster is expected to create new space for industrial development in Phu Cat District and Binh Dinh Province as a whole, contributing to local economic growth, job creation, and enhanced investment attraction in the coming years.
