Long An, a province in the Mekong Delta region, is located approximately 50 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City via National Highway 1A. It borders Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province to the east, the Kingdom of Cambodia to the north, Dong Thap Province to the west, and Tien Giang Province to the south.

The province has a unique geographical location: although situated in the Mekong Delta, it belongs to the Southern Key Economic Zone, recognized as a dynamic economic region playing a crucial role in Vietnam's economic development strategy.
According to statistics, in the first nine months of 2024, industrial zones in Long An attracted 96 investment projects, including 75 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects and 21 domestic projects. The total newly registered investment capital amounted to 540.13 million USD and 1,227.12 billion VND, respectively (covering an area of 28.39 hectares).
Currently, Long An has 26 industrial zones eligible to receive investment, with an industrial land area of 4,278 hectares, a leased industrial land area of 2,912.32 hectares, and an occupancy rate of 68.08%. Among these, there are 997 foreign investment projects with a total capital of 6,943.9 million USD and 953 domestic projects with a total capital of 140,632.6 billion VND; the available clean land for secondary investors in these 26 industrial zones covers 684.3 hectares; land rental prices in the province's industrial zones range from 150 to 275 USD per square meter per rental cycle, depending on the location.
In the 17 operational industrial clusters in the province, 646 projects have been attracted, with a total leased area of 603 hectares, and the occupancy rate stands at 83.62%.
In the border gate economic zone, there are two FDI projects with an investment capital of 75 million USD covering an area of 21.2 hectares and two domestic direct investment (DDI) projects leasing 0.66 hectares.
According to Decision No. 686/QĐ-TTg dated June 13, 2023, by the Prime Minister, approving the Long An Province Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, the province aims to have 51 industrial zones covering a total area of 12,433 hectares by 2030. Simultaneously, 28 new industrial clusters are planned, covering a total area of 1,808 hectares, bringing the total number of industrial clusters in the province to 72 with a combined area of 3,989 hectares.
