On November 5, at the Thai Binh Conference Center, the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Thai Binh province jointly organized a conference to announce the Prime Minister's Decision No.1486 / QD-TTg of October 28, 2019. Prime Minister approving the general planning to build Thai Binh Economic Zone, Thai Binh province till 2040, with a vision to 2050.
At the conference, authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha handed the above Decision to Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee Chairman Dang Trong Thang.
With the goal of a comprehensive, multi-industry and breakthrough area of Thai Binh province, Thai Binh economic zone willmaximize the advantages of natural conditions and position in economic connectivity, trade and services with neighboring areas, meeting the social and economic development needs of the locality and the northern coastal region.
Thai Binh Economic Zone is planned to cover an area ofmore than 30,000 hectares, including 30 communes, 1 town, in Thai Thuy and Tien Hai districts, located on a coastal road linking Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa. 30 km from Cat Bi yard and 30 km from Tan Vu-Lach Huyen deep-water port
Here, the main functional areas include Thai Binh Power Center with Thai Binh Thermal Power Center with an area of 253 ha and wind power area with an area of 600ha; industrial, urban and service zones with an area of over 8,000ha; seaport area to receive ships of up to 50,000DWT with an area of 500 ha; tourist area, service over 3,100 ha and rural residential area with over 2,500ha.
In terms of orientation, the industry will develop inthe direction of environmentally friendly, leading to high-tech industry suchas engine manufacturing, manufacturing, assembling cars, motorcycles, exportgarment...
The service and tourism industry will developforwarding and transportation services associated with the seaport system,prioritizing a modern distribution system including commercial centers, generalservices, finance and banking. Focus on developing urban tourism products associated with events, festivals, beach resorts, high-class entertainment andtourism (golf, casino).
In the field of agriculture, high-tech agriculturalmodels will be developed to improve productivity and quality and make full useof natural conditions.
In addition, Thai Binh Economic Zone is planned tohave a modern landscape architecture space, based on the landscape structureand natural ecology, especially exploitation of river landscape, estuarineareas, estuaries, coast strip.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of ConstructionPham Hong Ha emphasized that this is an economic area with a very large area,developing multiple goals both in terms of economy and society, which is veryfavorable for Thai Binh province.
The Minister of Construction proposed that Thai Binhprovince should seriously comply with the approved plan, ensuring theuniformity and consistency in development from investment promotion toconstruction of infrastructure of Economic Zone.
In order for Thai Binh Economic Zone to be soon built,the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People'sCouncil of Thai Binh Province Nguyen Hong Dien directed the Management Board ofEconomic Zone and Industrial Zones of the province to urgently coordinate withdepartments, branches and related units shall organize the public listing of spatial development orientations and technical drawings of the general construction planning scheme of Thai Binh Economic Zone.
The provincial People's Committee urgently directs the formulation and promulgation of management regulations according to the generalplanning scheme, actively cooperating with the ministries, central agencies andbranches in order to promptly report to the Prime Minister for approval of theframework incentive policies to encourage investment in the economic zone.
Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committe ecommits that Thai Binh Economic Zone will be an attractive and reliable addressfor domestic, foreign and local investors to listen and adjust in time mechanisms and policies to support and encourage investment with the highest preferential level./.
