Bridging the Seas: A Logistics Priority
Despite being a landlocked province, Gia Lai is making bold moves in maritime logistics. During the meeting at BCCI headquarters, logistics emerged as the centerpiece of the discussion.
BCCI representatives expressed strong interest in establishing a connection between Busan Port—one of the world’s busiest container hubs—and the Phu My Seaportand Industrial Park project (located in neighboring Binh Dinh province), inwhich Gia Lai is a key investment partner.
Bothsides explored strategies to collaborate on maritime transport and supply chain development. The ultimate goal is to leverage Gia Lai’s strategic location to transform it into a major logistics gateway for the Central Highlands region.
Two Pillars of Growth: Clean Energy and Farming
Beyond logistics, Gia Lai pitched its vast potential in two specific sectors where South Korea excels:
- High-Tech Agriculture: With abundant land and a favorable climate, Gia Lai is calling for investment in deep processing and high-quality preservation technologies. A key priority is building a "cold chain" logistics system to enable the direct export of fresh agricultural produce to the Korean market, thereby boosting value.
- Renewable Energy: Aligning with global sustainability trends, the province pledged to offer maximum support for renewable energy projects.
The "5 Togethers" Commitment
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry committed to acting as a strategic bridge, actively introducing capable Korean firms to survey and invest in GiaLai. BCCI also proposed establishing a regular information exchange channel tofast-track cooperation.
In response, Gia Lai officials reassured investors with a strong commitment to improving the business climate, guided by their "5 Togethers"motto:
1. Listening together
2. Discussing together
3. Acting together
4. Sharing results together
5. Solving problems together
This visit marks a proactive step for Gia Lai, signaling its readiness to integrateglobally and attract high-quality, large-scale projects from South Korea.
