FDI attraction in the first 9 months of 2022 of Hanoi

In order to attract foreign investment capital in the late 2022 period, according to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, the city will promote activities to call for investment capital from target markets such as Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan (China), the US, and Europe; enhance connections with multinational corporations and large investors. The city will attract in-depth foreign investment associated with sustainable development goals and prioritize quality projects, products with added value and high competitiveness.

According to the data of the Hanoi Statistics Office, in September 2022, Hanoi attracted 169.4 million USD in term of foreign investment. In which, there were 20 newly licensed FDI projects with a total registered capital of 10.1 million USD, 12 projects adjusted to the increase capital with the registered investment capital of 140.3 million USD; foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares 15 times, reaching 19 million USD.

Accumulated in 9 months of 2022, the city attracted 1,019 million USD in FDI, up 18% over the same period last year. Of which, 262 new projects were registered with a capital of 183 million USD (an increase of 6.5% in the numbers of projects and an increase of 12.5% in the registered capital over the same period in 2021); there were 141 additional projects to boost investment capital with an increase of USD 336 million (an increase of 51.6% in projects and a decrease of 31.8% in registered capital)); Foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares 286 times with a capital of 500 million USD, up 83.8%.
