A significant milestone in attracting investment to Quang Tri has been marked by the groundbreaking ceremony for the TST Textile Vietnam factory project. This is not only the first investment project but also the first FDI project implemented in the Quang Tri Industrial Park.
The project, invested by Yong Textile PTE. LTD (Singapore), received approval from the Quang Tri Provincial Economic Zone Management Board in September 2025. The project aims to produce various types of fabrics such as woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, crocheted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, and to carry out finishing processes for textile products.
According to the plan, the project will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, the factory will have a capacity of approximately 20 million m² of fabric per year. In the next phase, the capacity is expected to increase to 25 million m²/year, aiming to provide a diverse range of fabric products to the market.
The total investment capital of the project is over 311 billion VND, of which the investor's contribution accounts for nearly 83 billion VND. The project's implementation schedule aims to put the Phase 1 factory into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026, while continuing to implement Phase 2 and completing it around the end of 2028.
The project is located at Lot CN-153, Road No. 3, Quang Tri Industrial Park, in Dien Sanh commune. This is the area leased from the industrial park infrastructure development project invested by Quang Tri Joint Venture Development Company Limited (QTIP).
According to the management agency, the project is located in an area eligible for investment incentives under current regulations, including tax incentives and investment conditions. However, the investor needs to fully meet the technical requirements before putting the plant into operation, especially the connection of the wastewater treatment system to the industrial park's centralized treatment system.
Currently, the infrastructure of Quang Tri Industrial Park is still under construction. The initial land leveling work has been completed, while subsequent items are being accelerated. The wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 4,000 m³/day has reached more than half of its construction volume. Internal transportation as well as water supply and drainage works are also being completed simultaneously.
Regarding infrastructure connectivity, the connection of the industrial park with National Highway 1 and the North-South railway line is gradually being completed, with the railway crossing completed and the connection to National Highway 1 progressing well. Simultaneously, procedures related to electricity supply are also being expedited to ensure synchronized operation.
In the coming period, the infrastructure investor will continue to coordinate with consulting units to carry out surveying, demarcation, and completion of procedures for converting forest land use purposes, serving the land clearance for the expansion phase (expected in 2026–2029) with a scale of over 175 hectares.
The implementation of the TST Textile Vietnam project is expected to contribute to attracting investment, promoting the development of the textile and garment industry, and increasing production value in the locality in the future.
