CHINESE ENTERPRISES WISH TO COOPERATE IN HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY PROJECTS IN VIETNAM

On May 14, General Director of China Construction Engineering Corporation (CCECC) Chen Zixiong met with Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Tran Hong Ha. At the meeting, the leader of China Construction Engineering Corporation expressed his wish to cooperate in high-speed railway projects in Vietnam and the railway connecting Vietnam - China.

CCECC belongs to China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), one of the strongest and largest general construction groups in the world. To date, the company has completed more than 9,000 km of railway, accounting for 80% of China's total railway construction volume abroad.

At the meeting, Mr. Chen Zixiong said that his enterprise is interested in and wishes to participate in high-speed railway projects in Vietnam and the railway connecting Vietnam - China.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, developing modern and high-speed railways is a strategic task and a top priority in the current period of Vietnam.

Along with that, Vietnam and China established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The development of a modern, high-speed railway system - including a railway connecting the two countries - was put on the agenda by senior leaders of the two Parties and States, demonstrating strong political determination.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam welcomes the interest and proactive cooperation of Chinese enterprises, including CCECC, with Vietnamese enterprises to participate in investing and building modern, high-speed railways in Vietnam. This cooperation helps the parties to be competitive in terms of technology, quality, price, etc.

Mr. Tran Hong Ha said that Vietnam wishes to share lessons, experiences, and practices of China when implementing this project.

"Chinese enterprises like CCECC play an important role in transferring and supporting Vietnamese enterprises to master and jointly develop modern railway technologies," he said, adding that Vietnam does not distinguish between state-owned or private enterprises participating in projects. What important is the capacity, technological level and ability to transfer technology to Vietnamese enterprises to master and develop in accordance with international regulations and practices.

The Government leader asked CCECC to orient long-term investment and business, share benefits and contribute to the development of Vietnam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.

In response, the leader of China Railway Construction Corporation pledged to ensure high standards, good quality and timely progress when selected to participate in Vietnam's modern railway projects. This enterprise also committed to closely cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises in sharing, transferring, mastering and developing technology in Vietnam's industrial ecosystem and railway construction.
