Topographic:
Lam Đong has highland topographic features with two highlands of Lâm Viên and Di Linh. The terrain has various layers slopping from the north to the south. Lam Dong was located 800 – 1,500m above the sea level. Lam Dong is the start point of 7 large river system.
Administrative units: Include ĐàLạt city, Bảo Lộc city, and 10 districts: LạcDương, ĐơnDương, ĐứcTrọng, LâmHà, ĐamRông, BảoLâm, Di Linh, Đạ Huoai, Đạ Tẻh and CátTiên
Natural resources: Lam Đong has 965,969 hectare of land (98% natural area) including 8 soil groups, and 45 soil units. It is really convenient for cultivation in Lâm Đồng, especially the cultivation of flowers and vegetables. Lâm Đồng has various mineral resources. There are 165 mineral points with 23 large, 3 medium and 48 small mines. The minerals are of seven groups: coal, metal, nonmetal, building material, gemstone, radioactive, and mineral water.
Travel resources: LâmĐồng has great potentiality for developing cultural and natural tourism.There are special landscapes such as XuânHương lake, Ðan Kia - Suối Vàng, Tuyền Lâm, Than Thở, Love valley, ÐaNhim etc., historical monument of Place I, II, III, Palace hotel; LinhSơn, LinhPhong pagodas
Human resources: In 2010, there were 748,332 workers, of which 358,195 were female workers.
Traffic: The transportation system includes roadway, airway, waterway, and railway. There are three important national highways No.24, 27 and 28 running through the province. Lâm Đồng has Liên Khương airport (160ha) with daily flight to Hồ Chí Minh city. 60 km waterway in Đồng Nai river is only available in dry season and mainly in Cát Tiên area. There is 8km tourist railway from ĐàLạt city to Trại Mát.
Power system: The province is supplied by the national electricity grid. It is planned to develop electrictiy grid of Da Lat city and Bao Loc city and construct more hydropower and wind power plants. 96% rural household was supplied with electricity.
Water system: 75% rural area was supplied with clean water.
Post and Telecommunication Systems: There is a center post office, 12 provincial ones and 30 regional ones. The number of telephone subscribers was 1,834,600. 100% has television services.
Systems Industrial Zone: Lam Dong has some industrial zones which are Loc Son (185 hectares), Phu Hoi (194.75 hectares), Tan Phu (75 hectares) and Dai Lao.

In the period of 2006-2010, the average growth rate of GDP was 13.3%. Agriculture, forestry and aquaculture increase by 11.1%, industry and construction 15.6% and services 15.9%.
