Geographical location:
Hoa Binh far from Hanoi centre about 76 km. The province share its boders with Hanoi capital to the east, Phu Tho province to the north, Son La province and Thanh Hoa province to the west, Ha Nam province and Ninh Binh province to the southeast.

Topographic:
Hoa Binh province’s topography is featured with mid-mountains divided into two regions. One is high mountains in the North-west with the average of 600-700m height and the other is low mountains in the South-east including undivided low mountain chains with 100-200m height.
Administrative units: 10 district-level administrative units, including 1 city and 9 districts with 151 commune-level administrative units
Natural resources: Hoa Binh’s natural land area is 466,253 hectares. The land is rich suitable for a variety of plants. Besides, many types of minerals can be exploited in Hoa Binh such as asbestos, coal, mineral water, limestone, etc, but remarkable are stone used for construction material production, materials used for cement production, mineral water exploited in large scale.
Travel resources: Hoa Binh has great potentiality for tourism development: thrilling tours, trekking, hiking, hunting, stream bathing thanks to its endlessly stretched mountains and hills, caves (Hoa Tien, Thac Bo and Ret caves), primeval tropical forest (Pu Nooc), manmade lake in Da river where visitors can enjoy bays, islands, peninsula with rare and precious animals and plants.
Human resources: Together with its advantages in natural resources, Hoa Binh is also proud of its human resources which helps bring success to investors. Trained labor accounted for one fifth out of 500,000 people in working age. The average working age is from 22 to 25.
Traffic: Hoa Binh has many national highways running through such as: National Highways No. 6, 12B, 15, 21 and Ho Chi Minh. The national highway No 6 connects Hoa Binh to Ha Noi as well as other provinces in the Northwestern mountainous area. In terms of waterway, Da river runs through Hoa Binh in 151 km and connects the province to Son La province. Now, there are some river-ports such as Bich Ha port, Ba Cap port, Binh Thanh port, Thung Nai port, etc.
Power system: The province has Song Da Hydropower Plant with a capacity of 1,920 MW, ensuring an abundant power source for production development and life.
Water system: Water supply plant with capacity of 50,000 m3/day. In addition, Hoa Binh also has Phu Minh water plant with capacity of 600,300 m3 per day, up to now, the investment in phase 1 has been completed with a capacity of 300,000 m3/day to supply Hanoi.

Systems Industrial Zone: 8 industrial zones: Luong Son IZ with 230 hectares, IZ with 86 hectares in left side of Da river, Yen Quang IZ with 200 hectares, The south Luong Son IZ with 200 hectares, Thuan Trach IZ with 200 hectares and Lac Thinh IZ with 200 hectares.
