Geographical location: An Giang is located in the southwestern part of Vietnam and is the upstream province of the Mekong River. An Giang shares its borders with Dong Thap to the east, Can Tho City to the southeast, Kien Giang to the west and Cambodia to the northwest. The land border shared with Cambodia is nearly 100 km with 4 border gates.

Topographic: There are 2 main types plains and hills.

Administrative units: An Giang province has 02 cities: Long Xuyen and Chau Doc; 01 town: Tan Chau; 08 districts: Cho Moi, Chau Thanh, Thoai Son, Phu Tan, Chau Phu, An Phu, Tinh Bien and Tri Ton with 156 communes/ wards/ towns.

Natural resources: An Giang is a province in the Mekong watershed, is one of the provinces with the largest arable land in the Mekong Delta. The total area is 246.821 hectares of agricultural land, including paddy land occupies more than 82%. An Giang land formed during disputes between the sea and rivers, it is very diverse. Each of the sediments in different environments will create a different soil, with changes in soil quality, topography, ecology and farming practices. Natural resources: An Giang province rich in minerals: building materials (building stone, granite, eruption, building sand, clay bricks and tiles), decorative materials (stone tiling, stone aplite), minerals fuels (peat), gems and pearls, metal ore (molybdenum ore, manganese mines), natural mineral water.

Travel resources: An Giang is one of the 10 national key tourist areas with some typical scenic spots such as Chau Doc with the Ba Chua Xu festival on Sam mountain, That Son, Tra Su Melaleuca forest,... In addition, An Giang also a number of cultural - historical - spiritual tourist attractions such as: Ong Chuong Palace (Kien An, Cho Moi), Steel poles (Long Dien A, Cho Moi), ...

Human resources: In 2020, working age population in An Giang province reaches 1.07 million people; percentage of working age population completed vocational education  reaches 65%

Traffic: - Road: An Giang province has 4.382 km of road, of which:
+ Highway 91 goes from Can Tho City to An Giang over the border to Cambodia in Tinh Bien, length 93.13 km
+ Highway N1 from Duc Hue, Long An through Dong Thap, through Chau Doc to Kien Giang along the Vietnam-Cambodia border.
+ Highway 91C is upgraded from provincial road 956 with a total length of 35.5 km
+ Provincial roads: The province currently has 16 provincial roads with a total length of 480 km.
- Waterway: Tien River and Hau River are important rivers connecting An Giang and the Mekong Delta with Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand. In addition, the network level 2 and level 3 canals ensure vehicles from 50-100 tons circulate in the province. An Giang has 2 ports: My Thoi port has a capacity of over 1.65 million tons/year and Binh Long port has a capacity of over 300,000 tons/year.


Power system: An Giang has about 100 km of 1-phase medium voltage lines and nearly 200 km of 3-phase medium voltage lines and 2,000 km of low voltage lines. It has 6,097 substations, with a capacity of about 100,000 KVA.

Systems Industrial Zone: - There are 03 industrial parks with completed infrastructure and put into use, including:
+ Binh Hoa Industrial Park (Chau Thanh District): (132 hectares) is located in the area Lo Te junction, next to Highway 91 and Provincial Road 941, Chau Thanh District, An Giang Province.
+ Xuan To Industrial Park (Tinh Bien District): Located on Highway 91, one km away from Tinh Bien International border gate, Tinh Bien District, An Giang. 
+ Binh Long Industrial Park (Chau Phu District): (57.4 ha) is located in Binh Long Commune, Chau Phu District, An Giang.
