DAKLAK – AFFIRMING THE LOCATION OF THE CENTER OF THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

Dak Lak province is located in the centre of the Central Highlands, with the advantage of fertile land, potential for tourism, renewable energy, population diversity and many ethnic and cultural identities. Towards becoming a development pole of the Central Highlands region, the provincial government cooperates with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to form a consortium with units to implement the planning project of Dak Lak province with a vision for 2050, integrating and linking with the region and internationally in many fields.

On April 25, the Provincial Planning Appraisal Council appraised the Dak Lak Provincial Planning from 2021 to 2030, with a vision to 2050 with the coordination between the Institute of Development Strategy (Ministry of Planning and Investment). investment) – Economic Development Consulting Center – Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design.

To effectively exploit the available strengths and potential and create breakthroughs in economic development, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee have drastically directed the drafting of the provincial plan to propose development plans to achieve the goal of “Building Dak Lak province rich, beautiful, civilized and unique, gradually deserving of the central position of the Central Highlands; ensure the people's material and spiritual life reaches the national average by 2025”. The basis of the province's development is a good plan while ensuring the implementation process achieves the highest results.

The province shall draw up a planning plan to orient economic activities following the typical fundamental factors: (1) Ecology of Land - Water - Forest; (2) Cultural identity of the Central Highlands; (3) A green, circular economy that ensures development is based on three main pillars: Environment - Society - Economy on a stable basis of environmental ecology, conservation of cultural heritage values, human values, becoming a unique destination, attracting domestic and international tourists.

By 2030, people's material, cultural and spiritual life must reach the average level of the whole country based on rapid and sustainable socio-economic development based on the green and circular economy; cultural identities of the nations.

The vision for 2050, Dak Lak Province to become a province with Ecological Space - Identity - Creative connection, putting people at the centre of all development processes; the people of Dak Lak Province together enjoy the results of the development processes and natural ecology is restored and preserved; cultural identity is maintained on the unique humanistic value system of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands; a place to nurture creativity in the Central Highlands, connect and integrate internationally, etc. Dak Lak people are civilized - friendly - integrated, have a high standard of life, enjoy a clean and green living environment, mingle with nature and have a rich cultural and spiritual life in the typical creative space of the Central Highlands.

The province still has many potentials and opportunities for investors. In economic terms, the average annual growth rate of GRDP in the 2021-2030 period is expected to reach 11%, of which 10%/year in the 2021-2025 period and an increase of 12%/year in the period 2026 – 2030.

To do this, the Dak Lak Provincial Planning identifies five development breakthroughs as policy, development linkage, and application of science and technology in production, creating a fundamental and comprehensive breakthrough in education development. - Training and healthcare and developing synchronous and modern infrastructure.
